RE: STC-25-028 Multiple Counties, USA Date:

Monday, June 23, 2025 5:31:00 PM Hello Julie, Thank you for your return call, sorry I missed it.

I was calling last Wednesday to thank you for reaching out to the NRC with the Quapaw Nations areas of interest. The current action under review is to license a process only, therefore there are no specific sites identified for using the technology. If the technology is approved and a license issued, specific locations would be identified for operation of the technology and the NRC staff will review the site-specific information and initiate consultation, with appropriate Tribes and consulting parties, to assess the potential impacts on cultural and historic resources.

The map and list of counties you provided helps the NRC understand the Quapaw Nations area of interest. Presuming we receive a site specific application and based on general information provided by the applicant, most of the areas of effect will be located to the west and outside the Quapaws area of interest.

Please feel free to reach out if you want to discuss further or you desire more information.

Kind regards, Jean Trefethen From: Julia Pebeahsy <Julia.Pebeahsy@quapawnation.com>

[External_Sender] STC-25-028 Multiple Counties, USA

the Quapaw Nation Historic Preservation Office, I am reaching out regarding the license application submitted by Disa Technologies, Inc. (STC-25-028), currently under review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and published in the Federal Register on May 12, 2025.

We understand that the application pertains to a performance-based, multi-site license for the remediation of inactive mine waste using High-Pressure Slurry Ablation technology. In order to appropriately evaluate the potential impact on cultural and historic resources, we would like to provide you with the Quapaw Nations Area of Interest (AOI), which identifies the regions we actively monitor for the purpose of consultation.

The Quapaw Nation holds deep ancestral, cultural, and legal ties to a number of areas across multiple states. We maintain an active AOI to guide our consultation efforts and fulfill our responsibilities under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Notification of any proposed activities within or near this area is essential to ensure that the Nation is meaningfully included in the review of undertakings that may affect our cultural heritage.

We appreciate your consideration and welcome continued communication as this process moves forward. Please dont hesitate to contact our office with any questions.

Please cc section.106@quapawnation.com so we can facilitate the process efficiently.

Thank you for your time.
