ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-58 FOR PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1
Dear Rod L. Penfield:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-58 to Vistra Operations Company LLC for Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 (Perry). The NRC issued the renewed facility operating license upon completion of its review of your application dated July 3, 2023 (ML23184A081), as supplemented by letters dated June 27, 2024 (ML24180A010), July 24, 2024 (ML24206A150), August 7, 2024 (ML24220A270), September 5, 2024 (ML24249A123), October 21, 2024 (ML24295A352),
November 7, 2024 (ML24312A368), December 19, 2024 (ML24354A265), and January 27, 2025 (ML25027A327).
Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-58 for Perry, Unit 1 expires at midnight on November 7, 2046.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed facility operating licenses for Perry is set forth in Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, issued on May 29, 2025 (ML25148A362). Enclosure 1 to this letter contains the Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-58 and Technical Specifications for Perry, Unit 1.
No changes were made to the Technical Specifications as a result of this license renewal.
The NRC staffs evaluation of the environmental review impacts of continued operation under the renewed licenses is provided in the record of decision (ML25160A138) provided in to this letter and in NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 61, Regarding License Renewal of Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Final Report issued on April 30, 2025 (ML25113A032). provides a copy of the related notice of issuance of the renewed license (ML25160A139), as sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
