Dear Kelly Ferneau:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will perform an in-office inspection in July 7-11, 2025, for the follow-up inspection on traditional enforcement actions.
On May 28, 2025, Paul Zurawski, Chief, Operations Branch for the NRC, and your staff interfaced with your staff on the intent to inspect the follow-up actions taken by Donald C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant in relation to 05000315/2024011 and 05000316/2024011 and to EA-24-047. NRC inspectors will perform an in-office inspection of the causal report, actions taken to prevent recurrence, and any follow-up assessments conducted by your facility using NRC Inspection Procedure (IP) 92702, Follow-Up Inspection On Traditional Enforcement Actions Including Violations, Deviations, Confirmatory Actions Letters, Confirmatory Orders, And Alternative Dispute Resolution Confirmatory Orders.
Subsequently on June 16, 2025, Troy Henning, Lead Inspector discussed the schedule for these inspection activities with Kristen Harper of your staff. To minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to ensure a productive inspection, we have enclosed a request for documents need for this inspection. It is important that all these documents are up-to-date and complete, to minimize the number of additional documents requested during the preparation, and/or during the inspection.
