ACCEPTANCE FOR DOCKETING OF THE LONG MOTT GENERATING STATION CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY LONG MOTT ENERGY, LLC. (EPID: L-2025-LRM-0035)
Dear Mr. Feltner:
By letter dated March 31, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML25090A057), Long Mott Energy, LLC. (LME), submitted a construction permit (CP) application for a reactor facility pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities, and section 103, Commercial Licenses, of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The facility, referred to as the Long Mott Generating Station (LMGS), would be built in Calhoun County, Texas. The purpose of this letter is to inform you of the results of the NRC staffs acceptance review of this application.
The NRC staff performed an acceptance review of the CP application in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, 10 CFR Part 50, and the NRCs procedures. The NRC staff determined that LME submitted sufficient information in accordance with 10 CFR 2.101, Filing of application, 10 CFR 50.33, Contents of applications; general information, 10 CFR 50.34, Contents of application; technical information, and 10 CFR 51.50, Environmental report - construction permit, early site permit, or combined license stage for the NRC staff to begin its detailed technical review. The acceptance review was conducted to confirm that the NRC staff has sufficient information to initiate its detailed safety and environmental technical reviews and establish a predictable review schedule. However, the NRC staffs determination does not preclude audits or requests for additional information (RAIs) as the review proceeds.

M. Feltner As indicated in LMEs submittal letter, the application includes site characterization information that is based in part on certain regional data to support analyses and findings. For selected areas, LME states that it will submit additional site-specific information at a future date and indicated that it expects this additional site-specific information will be confirmatory in nature. If the information provided during the review includes new or significant information that is counter to previously provided information and analyses, the NRC staff will conduct an assessment and determine the appropriate path forward, which could include, among other things, additional audits, RAIs, revisions to the NRC staffs conclusions, and changes to the review schedule or resources.
The NRC staff will provide a schedule for the completion of the safety and environmental reviews of the application in separate correspondence, to include key milestones and resource estimates. The docket number established for LMGS is 50-614.
A notice of acceptance for docketing will be published by the Office of the Federal Register.
