RECOMMENDATION FOR THE MODEL NO. 880 SERIES PACKAGES REVIEW - ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2024-LLA-0112
Dear Lad Falat:
By letter dated July 18, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML24261B174), the U.S. Department of Transportation requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff perform a review of a QSA Global application for issuance of a revision to the Competent Authority Certificate No. USA/9296/B(U)-96, for the Model No. 880 Series transport package to the International Atomic Energy Agency Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material, 2018 Edition, No. SSR-6.
Based upon our review of the statements and representations contained in the application and its supplements, and for the reasons stated in the enclosed safety evaluation report, we recommend issuing a certificate for import and export shipments for the for the Model No. 880 Series packages.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS.
