Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is export license amendment application PXB243.02 which was accepted for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), on March 13, 2025. In this application, J.L Shepherd and Associates, Inc. is seeking to amend export license PXB243.01 (its active license) which authorizes the export of Category 1 quantities of Cobalt-60 contained in sealed sources, not to exceed 1110 Terabecquerels (TBq) per shipment, to Canada, Chile, Guatemala, and Panama to be used in devices for agricultural and biological purposes.
The purpose of this export license amendment is to extend the date of expiration from June 30, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
As a matter of process, and in accordance with 10 CFR 110.81, this export license amendment application will be publicly available for 30 days. If no dissenting public comments are received, and all applicable legal requirements are satisfied, the NRC will issue the amended license after the 30-day period.
