OF PRE-SUBMITTAL SAFETY REVIEW MEETING (DOCKET NUMBERS: 50-321 AND 50-366)
Dear Jamie M. Coleman:
By letter dated November 20, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) ML23324A132), Southern Nuclear Company (Southern, the applicant), submitted a letter of intent to submit a subsequent license renewal (SLR) application for Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Hatch).
On March 27, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, or the staff) held a public meeting with Southern to discuss the expected content of the upcoming submittal of their SLR application for Hatch. The focus of this meeting was on the safety review. More specifically, Southern provided details of the Hatch buried pipe and tanks aging management program. The slides for the staff presentation (ML25078A058) are available.
Southern provided its presentation involving Hatch (ML25100A081). The staff discussed the NRCs review process, and the applicant discussed relevant safety issues related to their SLR application.
No members of the public provided comments or asked questions.
