LETTERS FROM T. BLOOMER TO FEDERAL AGENCIES NOTIFYING THEM OF STATE OF CONNECTICUT DRAFT AGREEMENT IN FEDERAL REGISTER NOTICE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Dear Scott Ketcham:
Governor Ned Lamont, on behalf of the State of Connecticut, has submitted a request that the NRC enter into an Agreement with the State pursuant to Section 274 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended. Under the proposed Agreement, the State would assume responsibility for regulating byproduct material, source material, and special nuclear material in quantities not sufficient to form a critical mass.
Please find, for your information, the Federal Register notice published on March 19, 2025: 90 FR 12795. The notice includes the proposed Agreement and summary of the NRC staff assessment of the State of Connecticuts program for exercising this regulatory authority. The comment period ends April 18, 2025.
Sincerely,
/RA/
