FORT CALHOUN STATION - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESPONSE TO APPARENT VIOLATION EA-RIV-2024-0050

This letter acknowledges your letter to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated February 26, 2025, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS]
Accession No. ML25063A277), which provided your response to Apparent Violation EA-RIV-2024-0050 that was issued in NRC Inspection Report 05000285/2024002 (ADAMS Accession No. ML25027A457). This Apparent Violation involved the failure to prepare a package of radioactive material such that, under normal conditions incident to transport, the radiation level did not exceed 200 mrem/hr at any point on the external surface of the package.
We have reviewed your response and find that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. We have no further questions at this time and will review the effectiveness of your corrective actions during a future inspection to determine whether full compliance has been achieved and maintained.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Agency Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or in the NRCs ADAMS, accessible from the NRCs website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
