TerraPower selected as participant in DOEs Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program

The Natrium project is demonstrating the ability to design, license, construct, startup and operate a Natrium reactor.

The construction permit application for the Natrium project was submitted on March 28, 2024, and is currently under NRC staff review.

Natrium Reactor Plant is an 840-megawatt thermal pool-type sodium-cooled fast neutron spectrum reactor that contains a molten salt energy storage system which enables the plant to vary its supply of electrical energy to the grid, up to 500 megawatts electric net, while maintaining constant reactor power

Initial Class III report was shared with the Tribes for review August 23, 2022

Training of all workers about importance of:

Avoiding and protecting cultural resources

Remaining outside exclusion areas

Notifying supervisors of possible discoveries

Archaeologist monitors any work conducted near the exclusion areas

Archaeologist conducts monthly inspections to ensure protection measures are being followed and are effective.

To date, all measures have been implemented as planned and have been effective
