GE HITACHI NUCLEAR ENERGY AMERICAS, LLC - RESPONSE TO NRC NOTICE OF VIOLATION AND INSPECTION REPORT 07000754/2024401
Dear Phillip Ollis:
On December 12, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cited GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas, LLC (GE Hitachi), in NRC Inspection Report 07000754/2024401 and Notice of Violation (Notice), and required GE Hitachi to respond in writing within 30 days. The Notice can be found on the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) by searching for Accession Number ML24353A339. On December 18, 2024, the NRC approved GE Hitachis request for a 30-day extension to the written response due date (ML25055A018).
This letter confirms that we have received GE Hitachis written response attached to your letter dated February 10, 2025, (ML25041A297). After reviewing the response, we have concluded that GE Hitachis completed and planned corrective actions appear to adequately address the violations described in the Notice. We will assess the effectiveness of these corrective actions during a future inspection.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 2.390 of the NRC's "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure," a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRCs ADAMS, accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
