Dear Dr. Brooks,
By letter dated March 11, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24071A237), the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Release 1 of the topical report (TR), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Research Reactor: Fuel Qualification Methodology. By email dated June 14, 2024 (ML24166A223), the NRC staff provided UIUC with a Regulatory Audit Plan for the TR review.
The NRC staff has prepared a final report on the Regulatory Audit and has placed a copy of the report, which contains proprietary information under Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 2.390 as well as export-controlled information (ECI), in the NRC BOX folder to which UIUC has access. A redacted version of the final report, with proprietary information and ECI removed, is attached to this email and will be made publicly-available in ADAMS. The NRC staff previously provided UIUC with the opportunity to review a draft of the audit report, and by emails dated February 13 and 24, 2025 (ML25056A114), UIUC confirmed that proprietary information and ECI were correctly marked in the draft.
