WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY DESIGNATION OF SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION REVIEWING OFFICIAL (DOCKET NO. 52-0006)
Dear Ms. Christian:
In a letter dated February 7, 2025, (Agencywide Documents Access Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML25038A115), Westinghouse Electric Company (WEC) notified the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that WEC has nominated Alex Baumann and Joda Jones to serve as Westinghouse Safeguards Information (SGI) Reviewing Officials for AP1000 and eVinci, and requested NRC approval (ADAMS Accession No. ML25038A115).1 In addition, the letter notes that WEC provided the fingerprints of Alex Baumann and Joda Jones for the purpose of criminal history record checks.
In accordance with its administrative process, the NRC has verified the clearance level of Alex Baumann and Joda Jones and approves their nomination as WEC Reviewing Officials. As NRC-approved WEC Reviewing Officials, Alex Baumann and Joda Jones must handle and protect all fingerprints and Federal Bureau of Investigations criminal history records as specified in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, section 73.57(f), Requirements for criminal history records checks of individuals granted unescorted access to a nuclear power facility, a nonpower reactor, or access to Safeguards Information. The NRC staff expects that the SGI will be handled through implementation and compliance with the Westinghouse SGI protection plan.
