This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
The purpose of this meeting between Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy, the licensee) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is to discuss a proposed alternative examination of steam generator welds for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1 and 2 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24158A389). On September 23, 2024, the NRC staff issued requests for additional information (RAIs) (ML24267A211) regarding the proposed alternatives. On October 16, 2024, Entergy responded to the RAIs (ML24290A098). The NRC staff has determined that additional discussion of the RAI responses is needed to complete this evaluation.
