R. E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT No. 85: REVISION TO CORE SAFETY LIMITS AND SAFETY SYSTEM INSTRUMENTATION SETPOINTS
Dear David Rhoades:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has issued the Amendment No. 85 to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-18 for the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (Ginna), dated September 22, 2004. This amendment is in response to your application dated April 9, 2002, as supplemented on January 10, 2003, February 24, 2004, and August 27, 2004.
The staff has identified an editorial error on Amendment No. 85 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML041180309). The NRC staff is issuing this letter to correct the error per the guidance in the NRC memorandums dated January 16, 1997 (ML103260096), which is derived from the Staff Requirements Memorandum (SRM, ML003754054) for SECY-96-238 (ML20134M324).
By letter dated September 22, 2004 (ML041180293, Package ML041180309), the NRC approved Amendment No. 85 for Ginna which removed the Figure 2.1.1-1 listed on page 2.0-2 of the technical specifications (TSs). In error, the attachment to Amendment No. 85 issued by the NRC did not contain directions to remove this page. To correct the error, the NRC is re-issuing the attachment to the amendment by updating to remove page 2.0-2 under the list of pages to be removed.
The NRC staff determined that this editorial correction does not change any of the NRC staffs conclusions in its safety evaluation regarding the acceptability of the changes approved in Amendment No. 85, nor do the corrections affect the applicable no significant hazards considerations published in the Federal Register dated May 28, 2002 (67 FR 36933).
Accordingly, the enclosure to this letter has a copy of the revised and corrected Ginna attachment page.
