COOPER NUCLEAR STATION - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RESPONSE TO
U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION INSPECTION REPORT
05000298/2024003 AND DISPUTED NON-CITED VIOLATION
Dear Khalil Dia:
This letter acknowledges receipt of your December 04, 2024, correspondence (Agencywide
Document and Access Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML24340A107) sent in
response to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection Report 05000298/2024003 (ML24291A261) dated November 05, 2024. In your letter, you provide a
basis for why non-cited violation (NCV)05000298/2024003-01, Failure to Maintain
Environmental Qualification of Process Line Connections Associated with Safety-Related
Instrumentation, should not have been issued against the requirements of 10 CFR 50.49.
The NRC understands that Nebraska Public Power Districts letter was not a formal backfit
appeal, and the NRC will review your basis for contesting the violation in accordance with
Section 2.8 of the Enforcement Manual. Accordingly, we plan to provide the results of our
evaluation and the basis for any decision relative to the disputed NCV by written response
within 90 days of the receipt of your December 04, 2024, letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Agency Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made
available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or in the NRCs
ADAMS, accessible from the NRCs website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
