As requested by your letter dated December 11, 2024, enclosed is the Certificate of Compliance No. 9212, Revision No. 12, for the Model No. RH-TRU 72-B package. Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staffs safety evaluation report is also enclosed.
The approval constitutes authority to use the package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 173.471.

SUMMARY
By letter dated December 11, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML24346A358), Nuclear Waste Partnership LLC requested renewal of Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9212 for the Model No. RH-TRU 72-B package in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 71.38. The current CoC, Revision No. 11, issued on December 2, 2019, is set to expire on January 31, 2025.
Given that no changes have been made to the RH-TRU 72-B safety analysis report, the staff continues to find that the package meets the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
The certificate has been renewed for a 5-year period.
EVALUATION There was no change to the package design, operating procedures, acceptance tests and maintenance program of the package. The staff reviewed the package application in support of the renewal request and determined that the documentation was available and complete.
Condition No. 14 was modified to allow the previous revision of the certificate to be used until its initial expiration date.
Condition No. 15 reflects a new expiration date of the certificate of January 31, 2030.
The REFERENCES section has been updated to remove the November 7, 2019, CoC renewal date as no changes were made to the safety analysis report.
CONCLUSION Based on the statements and representations in the application, the staff concludes that the Model No. RH-TRU 72-B package design has been adequately described and evaluated, and the certificate has been renewed for a 5-year term. This renewal does not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
