OF PRE-SUBMITTAL SAFETY REVIEW MEETING (DOCKET NUMBERS: 50-321 AND 50-366)
Dear Jamie Coleman:
By letter dated November 20, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23324A132), Southern Nuclear Company (Southern, the applicant),
submitted a letter of intent to submit a subsequent license renewal application (SLRA) for Edwin I. Hatch (Hatch), Units 1 and 2.
On November 13, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, or the staff) held a public meeting with Southern to discuss the expected content of the upcoming submittal of their SLRA for Hatch. The focus of this meeting was on the safety review. The slides for the staff presentation are available in ADAMS under ML24317A029.
Southern provided its presentation involving Hatch, which is available in ADAMS under ML24352A167. The staff discussed the NRCs review process, and the applicant discussed relevant safety issues related to their SLRA. No members of the public provided comments or asked questions.
