U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STATUS OF THE REVIEW OF NEI 99-01, DRAFT REVISION 7, DATED SEPTEMBER 30, 2024
Dear Susan Perkins:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed its technical review of NEI 99-01, Revision 7, Methodology for the Development of Emergency Action Levels for Non-Passive Reactors, Revision 7, dated September 30, 2024 (ADAMS Accession No. ML24274A313). As a result, the staff issued for public comment draft Regulatory Guide (DG), DG-1423, Emergency Response Planning and Preparedness for Nuclear Power Reactors, to endorse Revision 7 of NEI 99-01.
The public comment period on the draft document ended on April 9, 2025. Pending any potential changes to the DG as a result of stakeholder feedback, the staff intends to finalize and issue its endorsement decision in Revision 7 of RG 1.101, Emergency Response Planning and Preparedness for Nuclear Power Reactors, by July 2025.
