Response to SDAA Audit Question Question Number: A-4.5.2-4 Receipt Date: 05/06/2024 Question:
The response to audit issue A-04.05.02-1_1 includes an updated Table 4.5.2 with RVI components and alloys/grades listed for each one. One entry, for the Upper riser bellows and RVI injection line, lists the material as "Corrosion resistant stainless steel or nickel-based alloy" and the ASME Codes and Code Cases that these alloys will comply. In order for the staff to make a safety finding on the material, NuScale should either specify an alloy for each of these two components in the SDA or these components should be designated to be completed as COL items. If a nickel-base alloy or non-austenitic stainless steel is chosen in the SDA, then discussion of this alloy should be included in the Other Materials section of 4.5.2, as designated in the SRP.
Response
Final Safety Analysis Report Table 4.5-2 is updated to revise the list of materials, including alloys, for use with the reactor vessel internals injection line and upper riser bellows.
