STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON TODAY AND TOMORROW ACROSS REGION II BUSINESS LINES (PUBLIC MEETING)
On October 30, 2024, the Commission was briefed by NRC staff and an external panel on Region II activities, as well as views from external stakeholders regarding current and future landscapes of the nuclear industry and engagement with NRC regional staff. The external panel included Sean Patterson, Regulatory Affairs and Environmental, Safety and Health Manager, Honeywell Metropolis Works Facility; Robert S. Freeman, Chief Growth Officer, Fuel, North America, Framatome Inc.; John Williams, Senior Vice President of Technical Services and External Affairs, Southern Company; Scott Hunnewell, Vice President for TVAs New Nuclear Program, Tennessee Valley Authority; Jeff Place, Executive Vice President of Industry Strategy, The Institute of Nuclear Power Operations; and Shelly Stancil, Georgia State Liaison Officer, Safety and Compliance Supervisor, Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
The meeting, which was held in Region II, 8th Floor Conference Center (Marquis One Tower) in Atlanta, Georgia at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, was open to members of the public attending in person and via webcast.
The Commission identified no requirements for staff action.
