St. Lucie Unit 1 Docket Nos. 50-335 October 14, 2024 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report Amendment No. 33 and License Renewal 10 CFR 54.37(b)
L-2024-164 10 CFR 50.71(e) 10 CFR 54.37(b)
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.71 (e), Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is submitting Amendment 33 to the St. Lucie Unit 1 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) for the period from October 5, 2022 through April 13, 2024. Two DVDs containing the Unit 1 UFSAR are submitted in lieu of hard copy and they are labeled St. Lucie Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Amendment 33 (Non-Public and Public). This UFSAR supersedes all previous versions of the document.
The UFSAR update required by 10 CFR 50.71 (e) must also include any systems, structures, and components newly identified that would have been subject to an aging management review or evaluation of time-limited aging analyses in accordance with 10 CFR 54.21. The Attachment to this letter is a summary of the License Renewal 10 CFR 54.37b evaluation from the period of October 5, 2022 through April 13, 2024.
Based on NRC Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2015-17, "Review and Submission of Updates to Final Safety Analysis Reports, Emergency Preparedness Documents, and Fire Protection Documents," FPL is providing two versions of Amendment 33. One version, on DVD 1 (provided as ), is a complete text of the UFSAR and contains sensitive information which should be withheld from public disclosure per the guidance of RIS 2015-17. The information that FPL has identified to be withheld is designated by the statement, "Security Related Information - Withhold Under 10 CFR 2.390," at the top and bottom of the page. Upon removal of Enclosure 1, this document is decontrolled. The second version, on DVD 2 (provided as Enclosure 2), is the redacted text of the UFSAR. Each page on which information was withheld contains the designation, "Withheld Under 10 CFR 2.390." The UFSAR version on DVD 2 is therefore suitable for public disclosure.

License Renewal 10 CFR 54.37(b) Report Summary L-2024-164 Attachment Page 2 of 2 Pursuant to 10 CFR 54.37(b), this UFSAR update includes the results of a review of changes at the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant for the period of October 5, 2022 through April 13, 2024 for any newly identified systems, structures, and components (SSCs) that would have been subject to an aging management review or evaluation of time-limited aging analysis (TLAA) in accordance with 10 CFR 54.21. This UFSAR update also describes how the effects of aging will be managed such that the intended function(s) in 10 CFR 54.4(b) will be effectively maintained during the period of extended operation.
The conclusion of the evaluation is that there are no newly identified SSCs or TLAAs that require documentation in the St. Lucie Unit 1 FSAR Amendment 33 under 10 CFR 54.37(b).
