By letter dated August 9, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24227A591), Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) the approved versions (-A) of Topical Report (TR) WCAP-18446-P/WCAP-18446-NP, Revision 0, Incremental Extension of Burnup Limit for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering Fuel Designs (Proprietary/Non-proprietary). Westinghouse has done so in accordance with our request to publish -A proprietary and non-proprietary versions of the TR, as detailed in the transmittal letter dated June 26, 2024 (ADAMS Accession No. ML24107B159), for the NRC staffs final safety evaluation for TR WCAP-18446-P/WCAP-18446-NP, Revision 0.
The NRC staff has completed its verification review of the -A version of the TR. The NRC staff verified that the submitted WCAP-18446-P-A/WCAP-18446-NP-A, Revision 0, Incremental Extension of Burnup Limit for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering Fuel Designs TR is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the TR and in the NRC final SE. The -A version, TR WCAP-18446-P-A/WCAP-18446-NP-A, Revision 0, Incremental Extension of Burnup Limit for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering Fuel Designs, is now approved for use in future licensing actions.
