Dear George Wilson,

By letter dated September 29, 2023, TerraPower, LLC (TerraPower) submitted topical report (TR) TP-LIC-RPT-0004 Design Basis Accident Methodology for In-Vessel Events without Radiological Release, Revision 0 (ML23272A260) to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff.

By letter dated October 11, 2024, TerraPower submitted a revision to the TR, NAT-9390, Design Basis Accident Methodology for In-Vessel Events without Radiological Release, Revision 2 (ML24295A202), which incorporated changes to TR TP-LIC-RPT-0004 Design Basis Accident Methodology for In-Vessel Events without Radiological Release, Revision 0.

The NRC staff placed a copy of the draft safety evaluation (SE) in the NRC BOX folder to which you have access. Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390 Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, the NRC staff provides the draft SE for TerraPower to identify any proprietary information within the draft SE. If you believe that any additional information is proprietary, please identify such information line-by-line and define the basis pursuant to the criteria of 10 CFR 2.390. Use double brackets and yellow highlight to identify any ((proprietary information)). Please provide comments on any proprietary aspects of the draft SE within ten working days of the date of this email. If the draft SE includes proprietary information, there will be both proprietary and non-proprietary versions of the SE, and the non-proprietary version will be made publicly available.
