RECOMMENDATION AND REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF DECOMMISSIONING PROJECT MANAGER QUALIFICATION FOR TANYA HOOD As provided for in NRC Inspection Manual Chapter (IMC) 1248, Formal Qualification Programs for Federal and State Material and Environmental Management Programs, dated April 19, 2013, this memorandum recommends that Tanya Hood be granted qualification as a Qualified Decommissioning Project Manager, under IMC-1248, Appendix G.
Tanya Hood was granted interim qualification by memo dated March 6, 2023 (ML23052A191),
which included a list of training activities to be conducted for full qualification. Ms. Hood has completed all courses except for H-408, RESRAD Overview and H-412, Advanced RESRAD.
Based on further consideration of the knowledge required for a decommissioning project manager and efforts to revise and streamline the training requirements across the program, I have determined that Ms. Hood should be granted full qualifications at this time.
The H-408, RESRAD Overview course will be added to Ms. Hoods IDP and should be completed as a post-qualification activity, within two years of full qualification.
