August 19, 2024 Mr. Brian McDermott, Director Licensing and Planning New Nuclear Program Tennessee Valley Authority 1101 Market Street LP 1G-C Chattanooga, TN 37402

SUBJECT:

U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION VERIFICATION LETTER FOR TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY TOPICAL REPORT NNP-TR-001-NP QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION FOR TVA NEW NUCLEAR PROGRAM (-A)

Dear Mr. McDermott:

By letter dated February 5, 2024, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), submitted the approved version of Topical Report (TR), NNP-TR-001-NP Quality Assurance Program Description for TVA New Nuclear Program (-A) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24037A144), to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for final verification in support of future licensing applications submitted under Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities, or Part 52, Licenses, Certifications, and Approvals for Nuclear Power Plants.

TVA submitted the -A version of the subject TR in accordance with the NRC request to publish an approved version, as detailed in the staff final safety evaluation transmittal letter dated December 12, 2023 (ML23254A052).

The NRC staff has verified that the submitted -A version is acceptable and is approved for referencing in future licensing applications by TVA to the extent specified and under the Plant Specific Action Items and limitations delineated in the staffs final safety evaluation.

If the NRCs criteria or regulations change so that its conclusion in this letter (that the TR is acceptable) is invalidated, TVA will be expected to revise and resubmit its respective documentation or submit justification for the continued applicability of the TR without revision of the respective documentation.

If you have any questions or comments concerning this matter, I can be reached via email at Allen.Fetter@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Allen H. Fetter, Senior Project Manager New Reactor Licensing and Infrastructure Branch Division of New and Renewed Licenses Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No.: 99902056
