ACCEPTANCE OF GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT, LLC EXEMPTION TO SUBMIT THE ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT IN ADVANCE OF THE SAFETY AND SAFEGUARDS ANALYSIS REPORT (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER L-2024-LLE-0023)

Dear Tim Knowles:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed its acceptance review of your submittal of a temporary exemption from the requirements in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Parts 70.21(h) and 51.60(a), submitted via letter dated July 2, 2024, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML24193A060). The NRC staff did not identify any administrative omissions or deficiencies and determined that the application provides sufficient information to proceed with a detailed technical review. The application has been assigned Enterprise Project Identifier No. L-2024-LLE-0023. Please reference this number and Docket No. 7007033 in any future correspondence associated with this request.

Based on the preliminary evaluation of your application and our review schedule projections, we anticipate completing our review by November 30, 2024. Please note that this date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, urgent assignments, or other factors.

The NRC staff estimates that completing the review of your submittal will require approximately 20 staff hours, which corresponds to about $6,340 (at $317.00/hour). We will promptly communicate significant schedule and/or cost changes, if any.

In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS.
