SUBJECT:
U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REVIEW OF EXPORT LICENSE APPLICATION PXB11a.06
Dear Ms. Flanigan:
Your application is currently under review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), for the removal of destination countries Belarus and Russia. In addition, it was found because of the new State Department tier list, China will be moved from PXB11a.06 to PXB11c.02. Furthermore, the countries of Bolivia and Peru will be moved from PXB11a.06 to PXB11b.17.
Also, this license amendment requests the continued export of Americium-241, Americium 241/Be, Cesium-137, Cobalt-60, Iridium-192 and Selenium-75 to previously approved destination countries. Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 110.40(d), states in part, if the office has not completed action on a license application within 60 days after receipt of the Executive Branch (EB) judgement, the NRC is required to inform the applicant in writing of the reason for the delay.
Additional time is needed for NRC staff and management to complete its review before the license can be issued.
You may contact George Moose, the Licensing Officer assigned to your case, at any time. Mr. Moose may be reached via email at Moose.George@nrc.gov.
Sincerely, 7/30/2024 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: PETER HABIGHORST Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs
