SUMMARY
OF JUNE 24 AND 25, 2024, PRE-APPLICATION MEETING WITH GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT, LLC.S PADCUCAH LASER ENRICHMENT FACILITY The staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a closed hybrid meeting (in-person and virtual via Microsoft Teams) on June 24, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and June 25, 2024, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Global Laser Enrichment, LLC.s (GLE) planned commercial uranium enrichment facility to be located in Paducah, Kentucky. This meeting was closed to the public due to the discussion of proprietary and security related information. The meeting was broken into a general information session that ran from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. followed by an environmental technical discussion from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first day and an information security technical discussion from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the second day. The discussions provided the NRC staff and GLE staff a forum to discuss the licensing process, gain an understanding of the planned contents of the application and GLE shared areas where they believe the planned application will provide overlap with their previously reviewed application for Special Nuclear Material (SNM) License SNM-2019.
