STATUS UPDATE ON MDR-001-2021
Dear Michael Ravnitzky:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you an update to your Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR) dated December 14, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24214A293). The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) subsequently communicated with you, including by letter dated March 10, 2021 (ML21067A122) and July 7, 2022 (ML22188A062). The scope of this MDR is for the following documents:
SECY-78-065, SECY-78-065A, SECY-78-071, SECY-78-082, SECY-78-084, and SECY-78-093.
As previously reported to you, the NRC conducted a review of the requested documents and consulted with other agencies that potentially had equity in the documents. The NRC is waiting for one external agency to complete its equity review. That agency anticipates completing its review by the end of this calendar year. The NRC will communicate the results of the review as soon as they are received.
