RESPONSE TO MANDATORY DECLASSIFICATION REVIEW NRC 002-2021 Dear Mr. Ravnitzky On March 1, 2021, you sent the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) a request for a Mandatory Declassification Review (MDR). The scope of the MDR is for the following documents: SECY-78-186, SECY-78-202, SECY-78-240, SECY-78-241, SECY-78-254, SECY-78-257, SECY-78-286, SECY-78-292.
The NRC conducted a line-by-line review of the requested documents and consulted with other agencies that potentially had equity in the documents. The NRC is waiting on an external agency to complete their equity review. The NRC will communicate the results of the review as soon as they are received.
In accordance with Executive Order 13526 and Title 32 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 2001, Classified National Security Information, you have the right to an administrative appeal, which must be filed within 60 days of receipt of this letter. All administrative appeals should be made to:
