OF THE JUNE 6, 2024, ELECTRIC POWER RESEARCH INSTITUTE ALTERNATE LICENSING STRATEGY INFORMATION MEETING (EPID L-2024-NTM-0004)
On June 6, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a partially closed public meeting with representatives of the Electric Power Research Power Institute (EPRI) and other industry members. The purpose of this meeting was for EPRI representatives and associates to provide a detailed overview of their recently submitted Alternate Licensing Strategy (ALS) topical report. The meeting notice is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML24156A246. The presentation slides are available in ADAMS under Accession Nos. ML24156A244 (open) and ML24157A310 (closed non-proprietary). The list of attendees for this meeting is enclosed in this memorandum.
During the open portion of the meeting, the EPRI representatives and associates presented an overview of the ALS submittal as well as the scope of analysis. The presentations of supporting analyses on xLPR fracture mechanics and the leak-before-break licensing framework followed.
During the closed portion, which contained proprietary Westinghouse Electric Company information, a supporting analysis on the small and intermediate break licensing framework was presented.
No public comments were received during this meeting.
