SUMMARY

OF THE JUNE 6, 2024, PARTIALLY CLOSED VIRTUAL PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC.

REGARDING A SUPPLEMENT TO TOPICAL REPORT ANP-10300P-A, REVISION 1, AURORA-B: AN EVALUATION MODEL FOR BOILING WATER REACTORS; APPLICATION TO TRANSIENT AND ACCIDENT SCENARIOS (EPID L-2024-LRM-0071)

On June 6, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Co mmission (NRC) staff held a partially closed (open session and closed session) virtual meeting v ia Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc. (Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and the Framatome representatives to conduct pre-submittal discussions on a supplement to Topical Report (TR) ANP-10300P-A, Revision 1, AURORA-B: An Evaluation Model for Boiling Water Reactors; Application to Transient and Accident Scenarios (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18186A181). The meeting was noticed on May 20, 2024, and is available at ADAMS Accession No. ML24158A235. The Framatome presentation materials are available at ADAMS Accession No. ML24157A353. A list of meeting attendees is enclosed.

During the open session, the Framatome represent atives provided a background of the existing TR and outlined proposed updates to limitations and conditions (L&C). Framatome representatives discussed updates to L&Cs 11 and 12 involving a generic procedure to replace the plant specific requirements. Then, Fram atome discussed a generic validation procedure for the requirements of L&C 18b. Lastly, a summary, and next steps for future interactions was provided. A compressed review was requested per LIC-500, Topical Report Process (Accession No. ML20247G279).

G. George There were no questions from members of the p ublic. During the closed session, the NRC staff requested specific methodology information utilized as a basis for various L&C changes.

Framatome representatives provided detailed scheduling information. The discussion questions regarding proprietary information are described in Enclosure 2. No regulatory decisions were made in the meeting.
