This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
On May 8, 2024, the NRC held a public meeting with SMR (Holtec) to discuss the uprated SMR-300 design, at which the subject topic was not discussed (ML24122C701). The purpose of this preapplication meeting is to discuss the proprietary subject topic regarding I&C, Electrical Design, and Human Factors Engineering. There will be a brief open session, ten minutes, to describe the purpose of the meeting, and allow members of the public to ask questions or make a comment to NRC staff. The closed session to discuss the proprietary subject topic will immediately follow the open session.
