SUMMARY
OF APRIL 30, 2024, PRE-APPLICATION TELECONFERENCE WITH NEXTERA ENERGY SEABROOK, LLC, TO DISCUSS LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST RELATED TO OFFSITE AC SOURCE (EPID L-2024-LRM-0064)
On April 30, 2024, an information public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC, et al. (the licensee) via teleconference, Microsoft Teams. The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and the licensee representatives to conduct pre-submittal discussions on the licensees planned license amendment request (LAR) concerning proposed changes to revising the Technical Specification (TS) Bases 3/4.8.1 AC Sources to allow LCO 3.8.1.1 satisfied with one RAT (Reserve Auxiliary Transformer) or one UAT (Unit Auxiliary Transformer) out of service. The meeting notice is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System at Accession No. ML24108A137. Enclosed is a list of attendees at the meeting.
During the meeting, the NRC and the licensee representatives discussed information related to offsite A.C.Sources. The NRC asked questions to gain an understanding of the intent and substance of the submittal not affecting the change in technical specifications, but the revision to their bases. The licensee presented information discussing the planned LAR. The licensees presentation detailed the proposed change and summarized the necessary reasons for the requested change. This meeting was mainly detailing the licensees plans to revising the Technical Specification (TS) Bases 3/4.8.1 AC Sources to allow LCO 3.8.1.1 satisfied with one RAT or one UAT out of service. No decisions were made during the meeting. No Members of the public identified themselves on the teleconference. No Public Meeting Feedback forms were received.
