U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FEEDBACK REGARDING WESTINGHOUSE AP300 SMR FUEL HANDLING AND STORAGE WHITE PAPER FOR PRE-APPLICATION ENGAGEMENT (EPID NO. L-2024-LRM-0017)
Dear Ms. Christian:
By letter dated March 21, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML24086A041), Westinghouse Electric Company submitted the subject white paper for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff review. The white paper describes the Westinghouse AP300 small modular reactor fuel handling and storage strategy and related equipment. A pre-submittal meeting was held on February 23, 2024 (ML24061A080).
The proprietary enclosure to this letter provides the staffs white paper feedback and observations for Westinghouse to consider in a subsequent application.
