UTAH PROPOSED REGULATIONS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

Dear Douglas Hansen:

We have reviewed the proposed revisions to Utah Administrative Code (UAC) R313-24 and R313-17 received by our office on March 4, 2024. The regulations were reviewed by comparison to Section 274o. of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Management Directive 5.9 Adequacy and Compatibility of Program Elements for Agreement State Programs. We discussed our review of the regulations with you on April 5, 2024.

As a result of our review, we have no comments. Please keep us informed of any changes to the legislation. The State Regulation Status (SRS) Data Sheet in the enclosure summarizes our knowledge of the status of other Utah regulations, as indicated. Please let us know if you note any inaccuracies or have any comments on the information contained in the SRS Data Sheet. This letter, including the SRS Data Sheet, is posted on:
