Dear Ms. Ferkile:
Enclosed are two applications, XSNM3840 and XSNM3841, accepted by the US. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on February 22, 2024, from ALARA Logistics.
XSNM3840 is for the export of 151.13 kg of uranium containing 30.15 kg of uranium-235, enriched up to 19.95%, contained in fuel assemblies. The fuel is for the BR-2 research reactor at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre.
XSNM3841 is for the export of 20 kg of uranium containing 3.99 kg of uranium-235, enriched up to 19.95%, in the form of metal pieces. The uranium will be fabricated at Framatome in France and will be used as Lead Test Assemblies in the BR-2 research reactor at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre.
Assurances from EURATOM that the material will be subject to all the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
