SUMMARY
OF JANUARY 23-26, 2024, ANNUAL NONDESTRUCTIVE EXAMINATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION EXCHANGE OBSERVATION PUBLIC MEETING On January 23-36, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an annual observation public meeting with representatives from the nuclear industry for an exchange of technical information on the industrys ongoing nondestructive examination (NDE) programs as related to the current and emerging NDE issues, research, and lessons learned from the recent operating experience. Many of the licensees representatives also hold advisory roles to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) NDE Program as members of the NDE Integration Committee. This years observation meeting was hybrid - the in-person component was hosted at NRC headquarters; virtual attendees also participated via teleconference.
During the meeting, several NDE related technical topics were discussed; no formal action items were identified. The meeting agenda was included in the Public Meeting Notice ML24011A083; a list of in-person attendees is provided in the appendix of this meeting summary. All presentations are available on the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), Accession Numbers ML24026A058.
