OF DECEMBER 11, 2023, MEETING WITH CONSTELLATION ON ALTERNATIVE REQUEST INVOLVING CARBON FIBER REINFORCED POLYMER COMPOSITE (EPID L-2023-LLR-0006)
On December 11, 2023, a closed public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (Constellation; licensee) via video conference. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Constellations responses (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML23241A841) to NRC staffs request for additional information (ML23219A166).
The discussions during the meeting were limited to RAIs 9-1 and 17-1. The meeting notice and agenda, dated November 22, 2023, are available in the ADAMS at Accession No. ML23326A152. A list of attendees is provided in the Enclosure.
In response to NRC staffs questions about thermal gradient and bound strength, the representatives of the licensee described planned testing during final curing and ongoing testing to confirm an unverified analysis assumption.
No regulatory decisions were made during the meeting. Members of the public were not in attendance. Public Meeting Feedback forms were not received.
