SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 15, 2023, TELEPHONE CALL WITH CENTRUS-AMERICAN CENTRIFUGE OPERATING, LLC REGARDING PHYSICAL SECURITY OF SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL AT THE AMERICAN CENTRIFUGE PLANT IN PIKETON, OHIO On November 15, 2023, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff participated in a telephone conference call with staff from American Centrifuge Operating, a subsidiary of Centrus Energy Corp., to discuss physical protection of special nuclear material in the form of high-assay low-enriched uranium at the American Centrifuge Plant. The summary of the telephone conference call is enclosed.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this memorandum will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, the enclosure to this memorandum contains OUO-SRI information. Therefore, the enclosure will not be publicly available in ADAMS.
