  • Construction Permit Issued September 1968
  • Operating License Issued December 1976
  • Commercial Operation began March 1977
  • Final Reactor Shutdown September 2009
  • Final Removal of Fuel from Reactor Vessel May 2011
  • Announcement of Permanent Cessation of Operation February 2013
  • Completion of Spent Fuel Transfer to Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation January 2018
  • NRC approval of Partial Site Release of 3,854 non-impacted acres in January 2020
  • License Transfer from Duke Energy to ADP CR3 effective October 2020

  • Project metric as of 3rd Quarter 2023: exemplary, Zero OSHA Lost Workday cases with over 1,020,007 person hours worked onsite since 2020
  • Radiological Control/Nuclear
  • As-Low-As-Reasonably-Achievable (ALARA) metric - in Compliance
  • 191 Rad waste shipments - no violations REGULATORY: (Federal, State, Local)
  • Good - Zero NRC Cited Violations for all of 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 to date
  • Good - Zero Violations for General regulatory PRODUCTION:

Acceptable - The decommissioning project is proceeding on-time and within budget, currently 60% complete.
