The compliance period for this rule ends on January 8, 2024.

After publication of the final rule, impacted licensees identified several questions in the supporting regulatory guidance documents and requested the NRC provide clarification.

The NRC staff has determined that additional clarification is warranted to support licensees timely and efficient implementation of the published final rule. Accordingly, the NRC staff has developed limited-scope revisions in three DGs to clarify these guidance documents and provided for public notice and opportunity for comment via separate Federal Register notices.

The NRC provides reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities where appropriate. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in a meeting or need a meeting notice or the transcript or other information from a meeting in another format (e.g. braille, large print), please contact Anne Silk, NRC Reasonable Accommodations Coordinator, at Anne.Silk@nrc.gov or call directly at 301-287-0745.

Determinations on requests for reasonable accommodation will be made on a case-by-case basis. Ten (10) days advance notice is requested to try to ensure availability; however, every effort will be made to address a request for reasonable accommodations with less notice.
