Response to UIUC's Request for Non-Public Documents Related to Security
Dear Dr. Brooks,
This e-mail is in response to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaigns (UIUCs) request, by e-mail dated October 25, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23305A110), regarding access to certain non-public documents relating to supplemental security measures for the protection of special nuclear material (SNM) of moderate strategic significance (i.e.,
Category II SNM). The Commission has determined that the NRC staff may make these documents available to future applicants, if the staff can establish the need-to-know. Upon review of the request, the NRC staff has established that UIUC does have the need-to-know for these documents. Therefore, the following documents will be made available to UIUC:
