January 2022, the Commission issued SRM-SECY-18-0058 approving the final rule. The final rule was published on March 14, 2023 (88 FR 15864).
This rulemaking is now closed.
Pending Commission Action The NRC has received requests from external stakeholders for an additional public meeting on this topic. The request is under consideration.
The staff submitted the draft Radioactive Source Security and Accountability proposed rule to the Commission on December 19, 2022.
The draft proposed rule is currently under review by the Commission.
