By letter dated June 30, 2023 (ML23181A172), X-energy submitted Revision 2 of the Xe-100 Principal Design Criteria licensing topical report for NRC staff review. The NRC staff understands that X-energy is currently working on a new revision to this topical report to reflect X-energy self-identified changes and plans to submit it in the near future. The NRC staff has reviewed Revision 2 of the topical report and is providing the attached preliminary questions for X-energys consideration as it develops its new revision of the topical report.
After X-energy submits the new revision to the topical report, the NRC staff will assess it to determine if the review schedule communicated to X-energy (ML23270B985) for the review of Revision 2 can still be met. The NRC staff will communicate to X-energy any changes to the schedule after completing this assessment.
