The NRC staff has assessed the revised principal design criteria topical report submitted by X-energy on June 30, 2023. As a result, the NRC staff is now targeting issuance of the safety evaluation for this topical report by December 22, 2023. Furthermore, it has been identified that an additional 35 staff hours will be needed to complete the review of this topical report. As such, we are now estimating a total of 635 instead of the 600 staff hours that were communicated to X-energy at the time the topical report was accepted for NRC staff review.
