WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM 10 CFR 55.47, WAIVER OF EXAMINATION AND TEST REQUIREMENTS (EPID L-2023-LLE-0006)

Dear Ms. Gerfen:

By letter dated February 22, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Package Accession No. ML23073A042), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E, the facility licensee) requested an exemption from Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR)

Section 55.47, Waiver of examination and test requirements, in accordance with 10 CFR 55.11, Specific exemptions. The regulations at 10 CFR 55.47(a), state, in part, that

[o]n application, the Commission may waive any or all of the requirements for a written examination and operating test, if it finds that the applicant has [among other things,] had extensive actual operating experience at a comparable facility, as determined by the Commission, within two years before the date of application. The facility licensee requested, on behalf of a potential operator license applicant, an exemption from the portion of 10 CFR 55.47(a) requiring that the extensive actual operating experience at a comparable facility be within two years before the date of the application.

By letter dated August 16, 2023 (ML23228A140), the facility licensee requested to withdraw the application from U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, the Commission) review. The NRC acknowledges the facility licensees request to withdraw the application. The NRC staffs review has ceased and EPID L-2023-LLE-0006 is closed.
