& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520
Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application accepted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), on July 19, 2023, from J.L Shepherd and Associates, Inc. The applicant requests a specific license to export Category 1 quantities of Cobalt-60 in sealed sources to be used in devices for agricultural purposes to Canada, Chile, Guatemala, and Panama.
The purpose of the amendment is to add an Ultimate Foreign Consignee in Canada.
The NRC will perform an internal review. The NRC intends to issue the requested license after the 30-day time period allotted for public review has expired, and it is determined that the applicable export license criteria are met. Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Licensing Officer, Joanne Savoy at Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov.
Sincerely, 8/11/2023 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs cc w/enclosures:
