NuScale Nonproprietary Response to SDAA Audit Question Question Number: A-LOCA.LTR-3 Receipt Date: 03/27/2023 Question:

NuScale has requested the review and approval of a new CHF correlation (NSPN-1) in the LOCA Topical Report. However, the data that is needed for the NRC staff to perform this review has not been provided. This data (i.e., a spreadsheet of the measured CHF, predicted CHF, local mass flux, local quality, etc.) is needed to begin the review.

Response

The NRC is requesting data to support the review and approval of the NSPN-1 CHF correlation in the LOCA Topical Report. Local conditions used in the development of the NSPN-1 CHF correlation are included in the data disc provided with LO-147042, NuScale Power, LLC Submittal of the NRCs Request for Docketing of Resolved Audit Response A-LOCA LTR-3.

No changes to the SDAA are necessary.
